Strike and Hit consists of three identical microphone-hit-machines used as percussion instruments and three live performers laying face down, using microphones as hit makers on the floors and walls of the Art Gallery of Ontario. The machines by design run independently, controlled by a microprocessor. The performers, instructed to hit using rhythms of their choosing, pause between each percussion set of one hundred for as long as they wish, potentially changing position during each pause.
