When activated, Gut Machine run for 15 seconds. The rubber surface of these units is cast from the solar plexus area of the body and retains details such as skin texture, pores, and moles. While this level of detail is lost in this documentation, the work’s rubber surface holds an indexical relationship to the artist’s body at the time of its making.
