Coppertone is both an interactive sound sculpture and a video work. Coppertone (the sculpture) follows in a lineage of sound sculptures where play and discovery set the stage for improvisation. The sounds – sited sounds from the copper-infused distillery grounds of Glenfiddich and Balvenie Distilleries – follow a post-Cage conceptual music approach where sounds are themselves but importantly are considered musical. The video work is Coppertone performed.
